LATIN GRUFTI: GOTHIC POETIC PRODUCTION
By Talita Rauber
Latin Grufti is Talita Rauber's artistic project, configured as a solo band by a female artist, which explores the language of music, video clips and shows, which involves performance and theatricality. It was born in 2020, at the height of the pandemic, an issue that permeated much of the initial production, in works such as video performances and music videos.
Talita is an artist and researcher, graduated in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Paraná and a master's student in Visual Poetics at the University of São Paulo in the line of interactions between art and rock. Her production is guided, on the one hand, by Gothic and its studies in various artistic expressions, such as literature, visual arts, cinema, among others; on the other hand, by the gothic subculture: its music, fashion, makeup and cultural scene. Her works address themes such as the locus horribilis, the post-human, the feminine, death, among others. She is also a contributor to Gothic Station magazine, where she publishes texts about Gothic and the arts.
With the Latin Grufti project, she won the Aldir Blanc Law for Short, Medium and Feature Film Awards in 2021 with the video “Organic Synthesis”, with which she also participated in the Blanc Dance Video Festival of Amazonas.
