Creation process
Check out some stages of the process of creating the work of the Latin Grufti project below.
Ideas
Most of the time, ideas for melodies, performance or lyrics come up. They are written down on paper or on WhatsApp. The idea for the work never comes ready, it is always in the process of developing the initial ideas and in implementing them that they are formed, without first existing as a fixed idea.

Music creation and production
Musical creation takes place in the process of recording musical ideas that, although not ready-made, develop as they are recorded. From a melody, harmonies are created with pads, bass beds, drums, effects, etc. The program used is Ableton Live. After the arrangement of a song has been completed, we move on to the mixing and mastering phase, also carried out by Talita Rauber.
Recordings are made with Novation's Lauchkey Mini MK2 midi controller, which integrates perfectly with Live. Virtual instruments (VSTs) are used for timbres, the most used are from Native Instruments, such as Analog Dreams. Vocals are recorded with Presonus' Audiobox 96 kit.

Performance to the camera
At the beginning of the project, with no possibility of performing during the pandemic, the artist recorded performances in front of the camera and then edited them. She recorded herself, or in some cases, with assistance. She preferred to film herself alone and without rehearsals, giving space to the spontaneity of the moment.

Edditing
The artist also single-handedly does the decoupage, assembly and editing of the project's video performances and music videos. He likes to work with at least three different types of footage, so that the three speak to each other and new meanings can be created by combining them. Starting with the "Organic Synthesis" video, more attention began to be paid to how cuts can combine with the rhythms and melodies of the songs, making the work more synchronized, but also more mesmerizing. The Final Cut program is used for this work.

Show preparation - live performances
For each show, an Ableton Live file is created with the songs to be presented. Songs are placed in Session View on an audio channel, synchronized with its BPM. There is a vocal channel, with delay and reverb feedback effects. Sometimes there is a channel of VSTs with the tones that will be used to play in the show. A notebook is used to write down effects, notes, lyrics, among others, which are revisited shortly before each show.
